Installing L2TP on D-LINK DIR-878

Hello,

My ISP is using L2TP. Unfortunately, OpenWRT does not support it out of the box.

Is there any tutorial on how I may install it? I understand that I need to install xl2tpd and its dependencies ip, resolveip, kmod-l2tp, kmod-pppol2tp, ppp-mod-pppol2tp, but where may I find them? I tried, but I couldn't find it. My router model is D-link DIR-878

Also, my router does not have connection to the internet.

Any help will be appreciated.

it exists in 22.03, did you forget to update the package repository ?

I'm running a 1+ week old snapshot, that's why the kernel is coming
up as incompatible.

I tried to find it, but couldn't. Could you please elaborate how may I download it manually?

why would you ?
where and how did you search for it ?

I cannot install the package through LuCi because the router is not connected to the internet. I have to download it to the PC first.

I tried to google and went to the /packages, but there was only xl2tpd_1.3.16-2_x86_64.ipk, which I think is not what I'm looking for

then why would you need the packages ?

if you do an opkg update in cli, you should get the URL for the packages matching your arch,
even if the actual command will fail
