Installation on D-Link DIR-853 R1

Installing and Using OpenWrt

Hi guys,
I have 2 D-Link DIR-853 R1 routers, and on both I have the same problem. After uploading image file, start Firmware update which failed only with "Failed to update the device's firmware", and after that router restarts.
I tried new image 24.10 and older images form older versions, with the same effect.

I have possibility to connect with them via telnet, but I'm not sure, is it good idea.

thanks frollic, but in my case, I don't see recovery page after reset.
And during reset flash USB-LED not Internet-LED.
I don't understand instruction form this topic. should I edit some files on router ? or put edit image?
Could you show me similar instructions, or tutorial how use tftp in this case?

I'm sure your google skills are as good as ours.

if you manage to get UART access, we might be able to figure it out anyway.

as this is the R1 don’t get confused with the A1 it’s not the same

do try the recommended Institutions and make sure you have the R1 firmware not the A1’s

Flashing instruction:

The Dlink "Emergency Room"

Connect your client computer to LAN1 of the device
Set your client IP address manually to 192.168.0.101 / 255.255.255.0.
Then, power down the router, press and hold the reset button, then
re-plug it. Keep the reset button pressed until the internet LED stops
flashing
Call the emergency page or tftp for the device at http://192.168.0.1
Use the provided emergency web GUI to upload and flash a new firmware to
the device.

also if using windows turn off your firewall while doing this and turn it back on when done

it’s only the bit he needs
so no not the hole thing
as the R1 is the Russian version
I’m guessing English is a 2nd language
and it may help to only show what he needs

also added turning off firewall which maybe is problem

Firewalls usually aren't blocking outgoing traffic.
