Install OpenWrt on enterasys WS-AP3715i

Hi,

i try to install OpenWrt on enterasys WS-AP3715i.
I followed instructions on https://openwrt.org/toh/enterasys/ws-ap3715i
Booting TFTP Image works fine. Also download different upgrade images.

After running sysupgrade with an upgrade image (firmware upgrade as well as firmware snapshot) the access point stuck after Uncompressing Kernel Image ... OK

I tried with images from firmware selector as well as the original links from wiki.
What is the next step? How can I discover what is going wrong?

The wrapper address of simple image devices should have been changed at commit 6…a8b831 , but only TL-WDR4900 and BR200-WP are changed at that time, and now the wrapper address changes are split among patches for specific devices. More importantly, commit 6a8b831 forgot to change Enterasys WS-AP3715i, causing https://github.com/openwrt/openwrt/issues/23112 . This commit will gather the change of wrapper address of simple image devices into a dedicated patch file. Tested: Both WS-AP3715i and TL-WDR4900 v1 boot well. Fixes: https://github.com/openwrt/openwrt/issues/23112

The original issue page provides several walkarounds to generate bootable OpenWRT 25.12 images for enterasys WS-AP3715i by using the image builder.

YES!
With the latest updates, it is now possible to run a current version of OpenWRT on the WS-Ap-3715i!
Once again, functional hardware has been saved from being scrapped.
