Infos about Tp Link tl-wr940n v5

Hi. I'm looking for a lede capable wifi router but the "offline" tech market near me only have cheap 4mb 32mb router.
I've found one that sell a Tp Link tl-wr940n(EU) v5 but can't find any informations about it, how much rom/ram and if it xan be flashed with lede.
Could you tell me where I can find these informatio s.

It seems to be identical to WR940N V4, except for the new TP-Link logo and firmware look. My devices also accepted the images from the V4.

Is it working good enought? Luci and every thing? Could you tell me, in normal use, how much flash and ram are left, also if the cpu is used heavely at normal use.

You should strongly reconsider buying new 4/32 devices at this point in time, unless the scope of those devices and their projected lifetime (plus some healthy safety margin) are as limited as their system specifications.

Some of these work perfectly for specific applications, such as firewall routers, or adblocking. LUCI is not necessary, so if you know what you're doing, and are on a budget for deployment to maximize margin, 4mb tplinks are an amazing option. Granted, you wont have GUI, but hey. If you need gui, buy a more expensive router. heh.

If I had found a better router I would have bought it, the problem is that, in my sweet town, I only find low//cheap router, I can for sur order it from amazon or ebay but it take almost three week to arrive (customs take forever to proceed any parcel).

I will get a tl-wr940n v5 for now and order a better one.

My objectif is :
with the cheapest : wifi client & access point (like repeater but with different infos) + firewall + adblock
with the high-end router : Use is as a linux box, monitoring plateforme and bittorrent client.

I just tried v4 firmware with v5 and it works straight out of the box. You have to do it via WebUI tho, because if you try tftp, serial says

original_product_id = 155189253, original_product_ver = 1
recovery_product_id = 155189252, recovery_product_ver = 1
auto update firmware: product id verify fail!

However, it works fine via WebUI, Flashed EU version in my case.

Do you think it's better to take a tl-wr940n v3 and use it with openwrt 15.xx (WR941ND v6 image) that comes with Luci included, or take tl-wr940n v5 and install LEDE (WR940N V4 image) , and don't have Luci because LEDE 17.xx have bigger kernel -- no rooms left for Luci ??

15.xx has serious security flaws (dnsmasq, KRACK) so I would not use that any more.

Just wanted to update my experience with the tl-wr940n v5 after adding a slimmed down 19.07.9 as per the wiki. The TFTP router client only works after updating to the latest firmware.

Hopefully this saves someone hours of wasted time thinking the tftp server is at fault.
