Image check failed: device supported but the config is incompatible to the new image, swconfig to DSA

I got the error both version 24.10.6 and 25.12.3.

I checked my configuration and no “swconfig” was used. It was bridged VLAN.

When installing, the “Force” option was checked to keep the settings. Everything appears to be fine.

The question is why there is a false negative on this check?

Which router?
From which OpenWrt version you are upgrading from?

When installing, the “Force” option was checked to keep the settings.
"Force" has nothing to with keeping settings, which is a separate flag there.
"Force" is just about ignoring the possible failing image compatibiltiy check.

As the compatibility flag is just a setting in /etc/config/system, it is quite possible that you have overwrote the old value if you have restored old settings after you sysupgraded last time, or if you "kept settings" in the sysupgrade despite the warning.
