So I was going through the settings looking at bufferbloat and SQM QoS and I was thinking there are a few speedtest scripts in the repos already. So what if there was one specifically for bufferbloat? Then it took those measurements and automatically applied those to the settings?
Now you wouldn’t want that running all the time, but a cron job could run that every few months or something (I don’t think more than quarterly or yearly would be needed unless the network topography changed drastically, and even then it could still be run manually.)
This has me wondering what other (if any) things can be done automatically. The less a user has to mess with their settings the better. Most don’t want to / have time to get into the weeds and just want to GSD.
…that being said, you’d think I’d like DHCP more than I do ![]()
