I still can not upgrade Openwrt One to 24.10.stable

ERROR: Build failed with status 500
The above errors are often due to the upgrade server lagging behind the
build server, first suggestion is to wait a while and try again.

Is the flagship Openwrt One beying neglected already?
I hope not, can someone please have a look into the problem?
Thank you.

This has nothing to do with the OpenWrt One or any specific hardware. It's an issue with the build system.

Yes, sorry for being not patient (frustrated).
I just don't know if the issue is recognised and attended to. The thread you linked was like 7 days ago and the issue was resolved shortly after the post creation so I don't know why it is not working for me. I get it, it's a voluntary project so things are done when they are, but at the same time I can see lots of successful upgrades reported and based on many platforms. Anyway, since available, I updated owut and installed the UAC but still no success. At least now I know why.
Thanks

Yeah... I don't know exactly what is happening with the build system, but I added a forum banner so that everyone will see that this is a known issue.

While I have no insight into the situation of the online-imagebuilder either, common sense suggests that it might simply be overloaded after the release.

The online-imagebuilder might be convenient, but it's not the main 'product' of OpenWrt, the downloadable images are (and those are fine). You always have the option to use the offline imagebuilder, build from source or install the binary release images.

Many gigabytes of storage are needed by the imagebuilder, lots of traffic and quite significant amounts of CPU/ RAM, neither of which are endless. A sudden and distinct surge of image requests, e.g. after a release, can/ will easily overwhelm it. Even before considering potential deliberate denial of service attacks or bad actors trying nefarious things (by its very nature, it has a higher attack surface than simple hosting of static files).

I still can not upgrade Openwrt One to 24.10.stable

You are not failing the actual upgrade, (flashing the image) but instead you seem to be failing the "build me a tailored image, please" voluntary step...

Just either

  • use the official 24.10.0 image, flash it and then install the necessary add-on packages with opkg.
  • build your own tailored image from sources with the full toolchain
  • download the 24.10.0 imagebuilder and build your tailored image at your PC
