Hi, I cannot find a proper shadowsocks guide, most of what I find is extremely outdated. I try to understand a few things after installing the plugin, like what is sss0, what is ss_redir hi and hj, how is this socks tied together, and how do I make it work with my openvpn and wireguard server?
Any good up to date guides out there?
shadowsocks not supported any more for openwrt. You might look at hev-socks5, instead. Wondering, why to use it with openvpn or wireguard.

I use hev-socks5-tproxy from openwrt to tcp-port 443 for this. Although not encrypted, having https and DoH via socks5, looks sufficient to me.
