I can't connect to BS-U35-WF.
I'm new to openwrt.
The device was on the factory firmware. I downloaded 2 files from the website. The installation of the kernel and sysupdate seemed to be OK. The root password was set. I wanted to reconfigure the router's operating mode and accidentally deleted the network setting.
After restarting, the router stopped being detected. I tried to enter failsafe mode, but it doesn't work. I tried to do a factory reset, but it doesn't work.
When turned on, the device flashes the hdd icon, then the wifi icon, lasts for 30-40 seconds. Then the wifi icon goes out, the hdd icon lights up constantly.
I manually set up dhcp 192.168.1.2. The laptop does not ping the device. The SSH connection is not being established.
What to do?
Can you clarify? DHCP is automatic. Do you mean to say that you set a static IP? Did you also set a subnet mask (usually 255.255.255.0)?
Can you ping the device (192.168.1.1)?
How is it physically connected to the computer that is being used here? Are there any other connections (to/from the U35 and/or the computer, including wifi on the computer)?
Your best option now is failsafe mode; please explain exactly what you did and what happened.
I tried automatic DHCP, but it doesn't work either. I saw the advice about the static address on the forums. IP 192.168.1.2, mask 255.255.255.0, gateway 192.168.1.1
Ping from windows does not pass through command prompt.
I use an old laptop on windows 7 with a physical LAN port for manipulation. Because there is no LAN port on the new laptop (I used a USB-LAN adapter and thought maybe that's reason). WIFI is disabled on the laptop, only the ethernet wire to the device (LAN to LAN).
Wouldn't this be the device's IP ?
not sure if you made a typo here, but you must set your computer to something other than 192.168.1.1 (but in the same subnet)... so your original 192.168.1.2 is fine.
There are 2 indicators on the device - hdd and wifi. As I understand it, hdd is an analog of power supply, wifi is network activity.
I turn on the device's power. The HDD lights up and starts flashing. Then the wifi starts flashing. At this time, I press the reset button 1 time. Nothing happens.
As I understand, I need to make the indicator blink very quickly (10 times per second). This cannot be achieved.
I tried to hold it for a few seconds when loading. Also, nothing happens.
After 30-40 seconds, the flashing of the wifi icon stops and the hdd icon remains lit.
press and release the reset button rapidly and repeatedly immediately after applying power... continue until you see one or more of the LEDs blinking rapidly.
Yes, 192.168.1.2
It doesn't work either
It might be time to open the device and connect to the UART.
Could you give a link to the post how to use it step-by-step
it seems to be a PITA - https://openwrt.org/toh/blueendless/u35wf#serial.
