HW-C108 / 4G modem Problem

Hello my dears. I need your help one day, I've bought a HW-C108. Unfortunately, I then installed the latest OpenWrt update and now some things no longer work.

The version that was installed before was a 14.07 image. Has anyone of you the original firmware that was installed after delivery? So that I can get the router working again that would be great.

Many Thanks !

There was no support for that device in 14.07, so if your old firmware declared itself to be of that version, it wasn't OpenWrt but either an OpenWrt based OEM firmware (most likely) or some private build - we can't help you with either of those, but current OpenWrt should work.

Thank you for your quick response. I understand that the manufacturer will have put together a software based on OpenWrt.

Nundenn: I've installed the latest version of OpenWrt. Lan works, Wifi works, only the 4G module is not recognized, so I need help.

Please show the output of cat /sys/kernel/debug/usb/devices

I installed the latest update from this website here:

I've already found instructions for this in a post, but my beginner's knowledge doesn't really get me very far.

Maybe someone can help me with this?

Thats what I get out

So you have Quectel EC25 in QMI mode, the instructions for this case are here: https://openwrt.org/docs/guide-user/network/wan/wwan/ltedongle

Thank you, I'll try it out.

One more question, I currently have no internet connection with the router. Where can I find the add-ons I need to download? Would this then pack it into / tmp via WinScp and install it from there.

Since the required packages have their own dependencies you will have to identify and manually install those dependencies. This will greatly simplify the process if you give the router access to the Internet.

Thanks. Are there instructions on how to give the router an Internet connection via LAN?

Simply stop DHCP server and configure the interface according to your LAN requirements. Or use WiFi as WAN.

Hello again .

Did everything as in the instructions, unfortunately I can not use the modem yet. Can I send you a log again?

How about posting it here?

Did you install the packages as outlined here:

I spent some time to write an elaborate reply to your questions with detailed hints. How is your luck with those? The attachments mentioned I can send as soon as I have an email address. The forum rejects them.

PS.: The reply that I mentioned I wrote as an email replying to what I thought was a personal email question. This is unfortunate as I was attaching some files that the forum software acting as a relay rejected. I really wished the forum software made it in email more obvious that replies would go public. The only hints are in HTML and pictures, the display of which is switched off by privacy and security aware people like me.
