Hi
I'm trying to flash OpenWRT on my Huawei EchoLife HG622u (https://openwrt.org/toh/huawei/hg622u), but every time I flash the provided image, I get
Boot from main system!
Linux file system CRC error. 222 Corrupted image?
MAIND first Double Image is error boot failed !
System can not boot,go to CFE
When flashing stock firmware, everything boots up just fine. I tried to download the modded bootloader, but sadly I can't seem to get it since the link is dead and it isn't available on Wayback Machine either. Is there any way to elaborate further to fiagnose my issue?
I'm glad for any answer, thank you for your time spent on me and my troubles.
Okay, I found a solution here: Hg622u wont boot - #8 by Bob7778
There is still one catch and that is that after booting, the system looks to be halted by running out of memory. I wanted to flash the modded bootloader, but sadly it doesn't allow me to do so saying the file doesn't contain a proper tag.

Are you flashing via tftp?
And did you note all the disclaimers on the device page? Device is no longer supported - and had unsupported hardware even when it was
Get yourself something modern
I am well aware of the issues. I could buy a cheap router for few dollars, but that ain't no fun.
I am flashing using the dummy firmware since that was the only way it got even loaded.
Well best of luck, unfortunately you’re not going to see a lot of folks helping out with unsupported devices and openwrt versions that old
Did it finally work the dummy firmware?
I'll update the wiki page for this device if true. Spite a bit outdated router, there are some useful tasks you can do with old OpenWrt firmware versions.
Regards.
Yes, I can confirm that using dummy firmware to upload OpenWrt works on this device. Due to the age of the device and its hardware capabilities the functionality of the device is highly limited, but it is possible to get it to boot and get to the configuration page after flashing OpenWrt
