Huawei EchoLife EG8247Q: I need official firmware or authorized admin-level access information
I have a Huawei EchoLife EG8247Q that was previously used by Mundo / Mundo Pacífico Chile. I want to legally reuse it only as a WiFi access point and LAN switch behind an Amplimax/ELSYS device.
Confirmed setup:
- Main router/device: Amplimax/ELSYS.
- Main gateway: 192.168.10.254.
- The cable from the Amplimax goes into LAN1 of the Huawei.
- A PC connected to LAN2 of the Huawei receives 192.168.10.100 and can browse the internet.
- Huawei LAN IP: 192.168.10.253.
- Huawei DHCP server: disabled.
- The Huawei WiFi networks are visible, but phones either get no internet access or do not receive a valid IP address.
- In the Epuser account, WAN Configuration appears empty and there is no New/Add button.
- I do not see Bridge WAN, WLAN Binding, SSID Binding, Port Binding, or AP Isolation.
Question:
Is there any official, documented, and safe way to use the Huawei EG8247Q as a pure WiFi access point, bridging LAN1-LAN4 with the 2.4GHz and 5GHz WiFi SSIDs, without using unauthorized credentials, leaked firmware, PPPoE, random VLAN values, or touching the PON/fiber interface?
I need to know:
- Whether the EG8247Q allows this with ISP firmware.
- Whether Bridge WAN / WLAN Binding is required.
- Whether there is any public official generic firmware for the EG8247Q.
- Whether there is a safe backup and recovery method.
- Or whether the correct solution is to stop trying and use a neutral router/access point instead.
