Whenever there is an upgrade i was told the overlay has to be erased completly for everything to work (because of the kmod dependecies for the kernel). Is there some workaround so that each time i dont have to reinstall everything and to make things easy? (All my opkg packages)
I usually copy back config files to
overlay-boot, remove the USB stick to boot without it, do the upgrades, clear the USB stick, and then reinstall the packages that were installed on it. This works fine if you only use the usb stick to store packages and downloadable info, and it takes less than a full reinstall.
