[How-To-Updated 2021] Installing AdGuardHome on OpenWrt [Manual and opkg method]

I dont recall i disabled any blocklist to be honest, but at least the network works fine and dns filters working properly

Go to general settings, you'll see Statistics configuration. If it's set to 24 hours then the last entries are discarded. Maybe set to 7 or 30 days.

Anybody can help me how i can make an allow for certain websites? AGH is cool and guarding whole network but theres specific websites i visit regularly but its blocked atm. Thanks

Filters-custom_rules down
Check the filtering "name site" tham KEY block
or
Filters

DNS allowlists

and add list sites fow unblock

I think the easiest is clicking Unblock from the context menu in the Query Log.

Which version of AGH are you on? Perhaps, upgrade?

yeh theres an upgrade icon pop up on my screen, problem is i have no idea if the update is one click and its done or there are more steps?

if you definitely unblocked. try closing the browser window. or the entire browser. sometimes it works after a few minutes.

How did you install AGH and which version do you have now?

Normally when you press apply, AGH service typically reloads the filter configuration without a full restart of the entire service it happens dynamically.

I used the automated install, i dont know the version exactly.

However.

The update is automated aswell?

The version should be at the bottom of any screen in the web UI. Or you can run:

AdGuardHome --version

Which automated install did you use?

You absolutely right, here its the version Version: v0.108.0-a.1030+782a1a98

How ever, i used this command, curl -s -S -L https://raw.githubusercontent.com/AdguardTeam/AdGuardHome/master/scripts/install.sh | sh -s -- -c edge

Looks like a snapshot version. There were a few versions recently where custom rules didn't work. So you can either try updating, or installing a version from OpenWrt repos.

You can try what I do: First install AdGuard Home (AGH) using luci-opkg. Then download the latest ARM64 release from AdGuardHome GitHub Releases and replace the existing binary in /usr/bin. After that, change its permission to 755 and restart the service.

This method will give you the flexibility to choose which version to install without needing additional modifications. The one you have is a pre-release beta version and may not be as stable as the official release binary.

had no time to share this with you but ok here an alternative solution, did all thru web ui, go to custom rules> check the filtering>unblock

then search for the site you want to unblock

works fine with me like this

very interesting numbers
