I want to use a non-standard (not 53) remote DNS port. Specifically 1253. Is this where I should set it on Luci interface? I am a little confused because it says "source port" instead of "remote port".

Should I add it to the end of the IP address in "Forwards" section like this 1.1.1.1:1253 ?
You said address#port but I've never seen # being used after an IP address.
dnsmasq uses hashmark for ports and no square brackets for ip6
