I don't know how to search opkg for a package providing numfmt. I searched by name and found it but I want to search inside packages because the search term might not appear in the name too.
As far as I know that is not possible, as there is no local database of the contents of the packages. To know the content, you'll have to download and extract it.
To reproduce:
- Login to the web GUI
- Browse to System > Software
- Hit the "Update Lists" button
- After it has completed, close the notification window
- Search in the "Filter" box

When you browser there, you'll see that I already filled out the search for you.
