Unfortunately, the nextdns package shown in openwrt is old and their method to install nextdns doesn't work anymore because it's not made for.apk

That's not giving me the latest version but older v 45
Well, you can ask the maintainer to backport it to 25.10:

25.10 uses 1.45, for now.
manually install the 1.47.1 from the snapshots https://downloads.openwrt.org/snapshots/packages/mips_24kc/packages/ or use the allow untrusted command line option in apk.

Nobody interested about the package has authored and tested a PR about backporting the package version to 25.12
I am using the latest stable version of Openwrt OpenWrt 25.12.0
Will the latest package will be available ever or should we manually install it from now on?

unless there's a backport, probably no.
Don't take it personally, I went to openwrt website and copier the version and pasted it just like that. I am using dark theme in my mobile browser, so it didn't look at bold. I apologise.
