I am using OpenWRT for years now and I always installed it via the router's web access. Now I want to install it on an Asus AX53U and this installation method seems not to be available. I read the install instructions on the device page. But even with the help of Google I don't understand the mtd install method.
How do I proceed the mtd method using Win 10 Pro? Do I need third party programs or are all programs already on board?
I stand corrected. That is interesting since one of my friends has one and my quick search didn't find anything.
Anyway, you don't need anything special on your PC since ssh is built into Windows. When you reach step 2, open a Command Prompt and type ssh admin@192.168.0.1 (or whatever the router's LAN IP is). You will be prompted to trust the key, answer yes and then type the router password.
Ignore the second box in step 3-- it would work only on a Linux PC. Use the first one, which does require the Asus router to be connected to the Internet at the time.
