Hi everybody. I have a Netger R6250 device, I want to install Open WRT on it, I looked at different guides, somewhere someone installs only 1 firmware, and in other guides they install Open WRT first and then install something else from above that is also relevant to this router model, can someone from knowledgeable people tell me which files you need download and install in what order? I'm afraid to make a brick, I don't want to throw away $70. Thanks
Go to https://firmware-selector.openwrt.org/ select your device and you´ll find a factory image to flash via GUI from the original firmware.
This model has limited OpenWrt support due to having a Broadcom chipset. The wifi will not work, so it should only be considered for a wired application.
tell me, will all the functions work on the following models:
linksys EA3500
Linksys e1200
linksys e1500
will there be any restrictions for wi-fi or something similar?
Severe limitations on WiFi. Wired/routing works fine.
tell me, can I replace the chip on this device with, say, a chip from Marvell\MediaTek to remove restrictions on wi-fi?
You cannot change the fundamental chips, no. That is not possible without entirely redesigning the device, so yeah... not happening. It's a lot like fitting a jet engine off a 787 Dreamliner into a Honda civic.
understand.thx u people
