can't find wpa supplicant or hostapd in packages. any clue on how to get wpa2-eap support
You need to install wpad, hostapd-common, and hostapd-utils.
Make sure you don't have any other hostap or wpa packages.

the ones i fond are incompatible

You cannot mix source from stable release 18.06 and snapshots.
If your image is stable, use the stable sources.
If your image is snapshot, you need to download the packages from the snapshot source within the same day, otherwise there will be incompatibility due to daily recompile of the snapshots.
