How to flash from lede to stock firmware?

hi guys i have a mr 3420 v5 i will be needing to use stock software for test purposes, how can i do that?

https://openwrt.org/toh/tp-link/tl-mr3420_v5

tried uploading via luci interface in the flash window , tried using tftp to flash and both of them failed that is why im using this post, any help will be appreciated

If truly LEDE (!OpenWrt), maybe try a more recent image.

Edit: Understood, but issues get resolved and LEDE is really old; if that is what you are actually running.

i need to come from openwrt to stock

You will probably need to use tftp. I think one of the other device pages has information about the tftp process:

i used this here:

https://git.openwrt.org/?p=openwrt/openwrt.git;a=commit;h=39e9bfb18199b046bd3b613002112e4e6dd53658

Flash instruction:

The only way to flash LEDE image in mr3420v5 is to use
tftp recovery mode in U-Boot:

  1. Configure PC with static IP 192.168.0.225/24 and tftp server.
  2. Rename "lede-ramips-mt7628-tplink_tl-mr3420-v5-squashfs-tftp-recovery.bin"
to "tp_recovery.bin" and place it in tftp server directory.
  3. Connect PC with one of LAN ports, press the reset button, power up
the router and keep button pressed for around 6-7 seconds, until
    device starts downloading the file.
  4. Router will download file from server, write it to flash and reboot.

but instead of the openwrt lede image i used the one here

https://openwrt.org/toh/tp-link/tl-mr3420_v5

https://openwrt.org/toh/hwdata/tp-link/tp-link_tl-mr3420_v5

https://www.tp-link.com/en/download/TL-MR3420_V5

i flash stock rom name via u-boot

tp_recovery,bin

router reboots and start blinking cycling lights like crazy bootloop

the only solution was to flash last openwrt image via u-boot

but i need stock firmware what can i do?

Did it work?

So, any error message from either attempted method.

no,

when flashing from luci it does not says error, it bootloops, when flashing from u-boot tftp it bootloops too

also this url is gone

Make sure the stock firmware you're trying is for the same country code as is marked on the router label.

it is:
EU version
" TL-MR3420v5_1.6.0_0.9.1_up_boot(210820)_2021-08-20_09.40.49 "

If you use a factory image of a more recent version of Openwrt and flash it via tftp, does it work or does it cause similar bootlooping? (the idea here is to understand if the tftp process is the issue, or is it the tp-link firmware you're trying to load)

the only way to get it out of bootloop was flashing again openwrt via u boot , tftp... but for some reason is not working with stock factory firmware (tplink) what could it be?

^^^ This link has firmware for the eu v5 version that appears to be different than the file you showed above.

what should i do?

I was thinking you should download the latest firmware from the link above, and try flashing that.

Docs state one, and only one method, tftp.
