How to flash a .tar file?

I'm having issues with WiFi speeds after flashing OpenWrt on a GL.iNet MT3000 and I need to go back to stock firmware to see what the settings were.

The problem is, GL only provide a .tar file containing A "sysupgrade-glinet_gl-mt3000" folder with "CONTROL" "kernel" and "root" files, how can I flash this using OpenWrt?

https://openwrt.org/toh/gl.inet/gl-mt3000#debricking
"Connect your computer to the lan port of the router.
See the GL.iNet website for details for getting into Uboot."

I don't own the device, but it looks like there should be a documented recovery option on the GLinet web page for "Uboot". Did you already check that?

I was able to flash GLi firmware with this method, there's a u-boot .img available on their site, thanks.
