How to enable debug output for wireguard

In searching for enabling wireguard debug logging, I found several threads (now closed). I wanted create this thread to serve as substrate for folks searching this concept in the future. I recognize that many search the forums but not the wiki.

I edited the wiki with a procedure to enable debug logging exposed in the output of dmesg. See:

Thanks useful information

Note: I do not think OpenWRT supports Kernel version <= 5.5 any more which uses the WireGuard-Linux-compat version, but debug seems not available on that version, only on the "real" version.
