How to determine whether OpenWrt runs on a Realtek switch

Hi,

On the OpenWrt ToH page about switches, it says

Not all supported switches have ToH entries yet. Some developer info can be found at https://svanheule.net/switches/start - please help by adding device entries

and there are indeed a number of switches listed on svanheule.net which are not listed in OpenWrt's ToH. Firstly, what exactly does "supported" mean here?

Secondly, how can one determine whether vanilla OpenWrt (stable, snapshot, etc.) will run on any particular device at present?
