I want to configure my OpenWrt router as a dumb access point where the main router provides IP addresses to clients connected to the OpenWrt AP. Additionally, I want the access point to have internet connectivity so I can use a torrent client on it. Instead of using the LAN port, I’d like to use the WAN port for this setup.
I also want to control the access point through the WAN IP of the OpenWrt router.
Could someone guide me on how to properly configure this?
Thanks in advance!
Delete the WAN and WAN6 Interface and make the WAN port part of the bridge.
Stop and disable: dnsmasq, firewall and odhcp
If you want to have a static IP for the AP, don't forget gateway and DNS server(s)
