How does files work with image builder?

I am using image builder to create a custom squashfs x86_86 efi image.

In the image builder documentation it mentions you can create a files folder to place scripts and configs in.

After the first image was built the community helped me diagnose my network port issues and I made a config backup using luci.

I put the backup of the network config file into the image builders directory inside files/etc/config/

Would this be right way to use files?

Once the image is built and then flashed, would OpenWrt overwrite this file during its first boot?

Assuming it creates these files during first boot?

Yes.

No. The default network and wireless config a are only created at first boot if they are missing. As you provide a /etc/config/network, it is not overwritten.

Thank you!
