How do I connect an OpenWrt WiFi client to an OpenWrt AP?

Hi,

I am trying to do something very straight forward.

     Radio 1 <-------------------------> Radio 2.

I have configured Radio 1 as an OpenWRT AP.
Radio 2 as an OpenWRT client.

I have also connected OpenWRT client to the AP as when I look at the associated stations of the AP, I can see the MAC address of the client.

However, I do not see the IP addresses and they can't talk to each other. I can't ping or anything.

I just want to create a point-to-point link between these two radios. Any input will help.
