I followed the command line instructions here: https://openwrt.org/docs/guide-user/firewall/fw3_configurations/intercept_dns
and if I perform the following query in Windows: nslookup espn.com 8.8.8.8
it returns:
Server: dns.google
Address: 8.8.8.8
Shouldn't that be intercepted and sent to OpenWrt.lan, or do I have incorrect expectations?
You can enable DNS logging or DNS filtering to verify that it works.
Thank you. After looking at the log I realized I'm not using nslookup correctly, and that the firewall is doing it's job correctly.
