Has anyone had experience using the Wavlink wn529N2 router? I have tried to look inside the box, removed the two screws but I think that it is glued or welded together and I do not want to get nasty on a very neat box. I suspect that inside it is based on the MTK7628 thick film substrate but I would like to be sure before I risk converting it into a useless paper weight. Regards Ian.

Seems to be a fairly obscure Chinese manufacturer so you better open that box if you want to learn anything about it. As it would appear, you are not risking a great deal of cash by doing so.
The only Wavlink in the wiki as you probably already determined is:
