Most likely I was wrong. I thought that 64 MB is RAM. As I understood in the specification, one should look at the 'Storage size'

SPI NOR flash memories are much smaller (usually 4-16 MB) while NAND flashes are larger.

I can't explain why, but according to the wiki some devices boot the .elf initramfs image and for others it's a .bin.
