well from the start LOL am a noob when it comes too this am more of a visual learning like watching a video. then reading a tut so what i did was login to the router on webpage and then went to Software and in where it says update list i press that then i search owut and i downloaded it and rebooted router then what? am lost
Yea, likely because official OpenWrt has a community that maintains documentation, facilitates support via forums and chat, etc. That's a pretty well-known fact of employing and using the official OpenWrt firmware.
Further, the x86_64 platform is "unbrickable" - it's install and setup is akin to a normal PC. I'm certain they considered this prior to selling a device with OpenWrt installed (i.e., they assumed the user doesn't need support).
It's installed, what issue are you having now?
Hint: have you followed the URL explaning how to use the tool?
Tried SSH?
If this is difficult, have you tried just downloading the current 25.12.2 firmware and using the web GUI page located at System > Backup / Flash Firmware?
(Warning: I think you may have drivers that you can better upgrade using owut. It's better to follow the owut instructions.)
Start with making a backup of your settings:
Then from the command line (SSH) run:
owut upgrade
This will upgrade to the 24.10.6
See the paragraph about versions
If this is successful consider upgrading to 25.12.2 which is the newest stable version
owut upgrade --version-to 25.12.2
For OpenWRT reading a manual/wik is often very useful especially if you are not that experienced.
LOL idk the SSH Password never set one confused now
SSH password is the same one you set for the web interface. On Windows open a Command Prompt and ssh root@192.168.1.1
i have no password to login to the website but when i try no password i get error i was using PuTTY i tired cmd as admin i get error ssh is not recognized
