Google Wifi Thread Hardware in Openwrt?

Hi,

I want to install Openwrt on a Google Wifi.

I know that Google WIfi is including a Thread Border Router so I wonder is this capability can be reused thanks to the otbr extension of openwrt ?

1st generation Google Wifi. According to these release notes it received tbr support in 2022.

Ok,

I was only aware of Nest WiFi supporting Thread Border Router capability.

You are probably right. The firmware is the same for both devices so it doesn’t mean that the Google Wifi has thread support.

Actually NLS-1304-25 has Zigbee radio and that could be used for Thread. AC1304 doesn’t have it unfortunately.
