GL-MT6000 Installing Official OpenWRT: Cannot access admin panel or internet

Hello,

I flashed the official OpenWRT 24.10.1 sysupgrade image to a GL-MT6000. The progress indicator reached 100% then I lost connection so I assume it rebooted. There were no indications of errors or issues.

But then after reboot, I am not able to access 192.168.1.1. I am also not able to access the internet. I have a wired connection to the router. The WAN port is used to connect to my ISP's router (which worked to provide internet when I was using the OEM firmware), and I'm using the LAN port to connect to my computer (which, again, was working fine for providing internet and accessing the admin panel on OEM firmware).

192.168.8.1 (the OEM address for the admin panel) is also inaccessible.

I would appreciate some advice. I can't even flash the OEM firmware since I can't access the admin panel at all.

I tried pressing the reset button on the router but it doesn't seem to have changed things.

Thanks.

Try to manually set an IP on the computer (e.g. 192.168.1.10 / 255.255.255.0) in case the dhcp server didn’t start.

Flashed how, using what file?

Thanks. I ended up just rebooting my computer (not the router) and I can access both the internet and the admin panel now, so I think it was just a case of not being assigned a new IP address.

If there's a switch or similar between the computer and the router, the computer might not notice the router rebooted, and subnet changed.
