The test on BPI-R4 WiFi 7 Manager — LuCI app for MT7996 / MT7988A - #12 by woziwrt now shows that even the open-source mt76 firmware support MLMR mode if we have the correct firmware and device to test. I think the guys who conducted the test on rtings.com just assumed that using a BE200 card (which only supports eMLSR mode) could capture MLMR packets, but that is the wrong concept.
