GL.iNet GL-XE300 uBoot ONLY?

Hello Experts,

GL.iNet GL-XE300

Could it be that this device can install squashfs-factory ONLY via uboot?
Even IF there is a vanilla openWrt on the device?

Does anyone have the same xperience?

I am sysupgrading from initial snapshot (installed via UBOOT) but it never changes.
