Just tested the firmware as well, hit the same error so i am now changing the wireless firmware again to see if that helps.
So things needing fixing:
- USB Data
- Fan auto speed
- Thermal Sensors
- Wireless 5Ghz (Working correctly)
- SDCard

Hi, r21874, which I think is the latest, won't flash so I've gone back to the r21864 version.
Cheers!
Right will bin the later one means it's like the other build I made gets stuck at booting.
New build being made though
Right i found out why the later build failed to boot, its down to something with the kernel.
I have broken something that has broken the kernel so trying to find out what i changed.
However i would like some help if possible. If someone else can help with the solidus1983 branch to get everything working i would be grateful.
I'm happy to test but am not knowledgeable enough about linux to debug, sorry...
New build up, master LUCI branch. Need wireless testing to see if A) channels show up, B) 5GHZ starts up and C) it's stable.
As always it's on my webserver as r21876
Once everyone is happy with Wireless I will then go though the list of things to sort.
Hopefully I can check this out this evening!
Thanks again!
Hi, it flashed ok but...
***can't select channels (not available on 2.4 or 5GHz)
***doesn't associate to my AP (21864 does...)
Sorry!
Yeah i am hitting the same issue.
So its not firmware related, so its hostapd related and i don't know where to start on that to fix it for now.
Well, I've reflashed with r21864 and that associates fine and I can also select channels...
I am connected using it now and using it to type this.
Sorry, I can help by testing but don't know enough linux to do much more...
Thanks for testing and reporting. I will figure it out.
just got my AXT1800 and dont have any plans to use it for anything specific yet so im also willing to do some testing.
I just installed the latest snapshot build (R21876) it installed no problems using recovery on stock firmware.
Ill see if i can dig a little deeper into the hostapd errors. anything else you want to have tested on this build or another build?
Is it worth playing with the experimental builds?
Could you flash earlier build before hand where Channel selection is working, I need to find what is causing the hostapd issue so I can fix it. Then start working on the thermal sensors and usb/sdcard issues.
Also I do have a public repo under ipq60xx-solidus1983 branch is where I am working at currently.
Hi, the release r21864 (which actually says r21865 in the 'overview' page) is the one that seems to work with channel selection etc...
[more testing is needed]
Using build r21864 , transmission power at 10dB range isn't bad, it's passable and very stable with all features working. It should probably be limited by default since higher TX power doesn't improve range either other than significantly reducing speed.
This seems a bit odd to me, surely increasing the power should improve the quality not the other way round.
Yes, at 11dB speed drops from 400Mbit to ~200, at 12dB+ speed drops to 100Mbit, 27dB (max) drops to 50Mbit.
Range only drops below 10dB, and it drops significantly. No noise or SNR difference in statistics page.
I noticed that the newer non-functional firmware is missing SU-BEAMFORMEE in iw phy
.
So Wireless Firmware 2.7 is missing SU-BEAMFORMEE ?? ok didn't notice
Yes.
Do you need the content of /tmp/run/hostapd-phy0.conf
per firmware version?
I tried running hostapd
manually on the newer firmware and got:
IEEE 802.11 Configured channel (36) not found from the channel list of current mode (2) IEEE 802.11a
IEEE 802.11 Hardware does not support configured channel
Might be a good idea remember to sanitizer the file as it might have said and psk info in there.
