Future-proof router advice in EU

Can you post link to both TOH and Device page.

For OP @miels if you want to future-proof long-term. look for following

  1. Mediatek SOC
  2. Wifi 7 radio triband i.e 2.4Ghz 5Ghz and 6Ghz radios
  3. 10G nic at least on both WAN and LAN ports. (10G internet speed will be commonly available in most of Europe within 2-3 years)

but finding that hardware is currently difficult.

Thanks for all the suggestions everybody! I went for konus's offer: an already flashed Zyxel t-56: lots of memory & power, all the hardware features I need, inexpensive, and easy to use since it's already running OpenWRT :ok_hand:

Good choice, GL-MT6000 power for less than half of its asked price.

Good choice.
Good Openwrt support. Great hardware in the price.

Looking at T56 photos it looks like there're only 5 antennas, but this wifi chipset can work with 8. It looks like 3 connectors are empty. These go to antennas built into the PCB. Thanks frollic for pointing this out.

.

edit: added note that the empty ones are connected to PCB antennas.

Cool, thanks for explaining.

Maybe to add to the antenna topic:
The normal antennas have standard uFL and should be easy to replace.
The PCB integrated antennas do not have standard uFL sockets in line to the PCB. It could just be "reverse" uFL but I am not sure. Have to Google a bit.
