Fritzbox 7530 (Installation completed, problems encountered)

Hi, I wanted to write about the problems I encountered installing OpenWrt on the Fritzbox 7530.

1: In the initial section, when using TFTPD, the guide isn't very clear that it's only "temporarily" loading OpenWrt into RAM. In my setup, tftpd didn't produce any logs. But the 192.1681.1 page and ssh to 192.168.1.1 were reachable, so I continued the guide by installing the bin files and deleting the old software with ubi.

2: At the end, when using sysupgrade, SSH simply returned an error and cut me off from the session. After a while, I simply unplugged the power supply and rebooted the router, and everything was fine. But how long do I have to wait?

PS: To find the right timing, it's best to start a continuous script, plug in the power, turn on the tftpd server, and then, when you see the initialization messages, change the PC's IP address.

Thanks, and I hope we can discuss this installation. Is there any way to view the CPU temperatures of this SoC? I can't. I only see the two WIFI ports in the temperatures section, and they're really getting hot!

This guide?

It says:

Flash OpenWrt peristently using sysupgrade.

Did you observe this, or are you inquiring about different wording?

This varies by device, I've rarely seen instructions include an estimate out of fear the user will interrupt the flashing.

Is this an app you installed, a system path or something else?

Sorry, maybe I didn't explain myself well. During the tftpd section, the guide explicitly states that if you don't see logs from the tftpd server, you shouldn't continue the installation. In my opinion, and I repeat, in that section it should be clearly specified that it will be loaded into RAM temporarily and that if the IP responds with the OpenWrt GUI, the transition has taken place and you can then use the various commands to fix the partitions and then use sysupgrade to install. I was waiting for the tftp logs and thought that since it's an FTP server, it would write something, not temporarily load it into RAM.

Can you provide a URL to this information?

Can you share with us - the URL to this "section"?

If you tell us where this information is located, we may be able to edit it (if it's located on the official Wiki).

Lastly, TFTPD software's logging differed from e.g., the built in tftpd of Linux distros (i.e, we don't know and can't guess the logging ability of your software). And since the official Wiki significantly differs from your descriptions, it's not clear what "guide" you used.
