Fritzbox 4040 (ath10k/QCA4019) with 18.06.2 - Invalid VHT mcs 15 peer stats

Hello,
my Fritzbox 4040 with 18.06.2 is suffering of "Invalid VHT mcs 15 peer stats" and disconnects wifi after a few days of use. Same problem as described here: [SOLVED] NBG6617 wireless disconnections

My question is: today, should I upgrade firmware as explained here: FritzBox 4040 - How to change ath10k firmware?
or should I upgrade to 18.06.4 ? (what is the version of the QCA4019 firmware in 18.06.4)

Best regards,
laurent

EDIT:
after digging on github, I see this: https://github.com/openwrt/openwrt/blob/openwrt-18.06/package/firmware/ath10k-firmware/Makefile

define Package/ath10k-firmware-qca4019/install
$(INSTALL_DIR) $(1)/lib/firmware/ath10k/QCA4019/hw1.0
$(INSTALL_DATA)
$(PKG_BUILD_DIR)/QCA4019/hw1.0/board-2.bin

And I've found this message: http://lists.infradead.org/pipermail/lede-commits/2018-July/008013.html

So I think my best bet is to upgrade to 18.06.4 and cross my fingers... If someone can confirm...

Hmm, I have those same messages on 18.06.4 but it seems to be working ok:

EDIT: I don't have as many clients as in the message you linked, though.

The first time the problem occurs after twenty days. The second time after one week. During a few minutes the wifi is slowly becoming more and more unresponsive. I have to reboot the fritzbox. I have four or five very active stations on the 5ghz band (a tv, a chromecast, two pixels) and about ten on the 2.4ghz (but less active).

What I'm reading here is not encouraging: IPQ40xx and ath10k_ahb a000000.wifi: Invalid VHT mcs 15 peer stats

I've upgraded to 18.06.4
I will see in a few days if there are error message in the logs... Fingers crossed !

Update: two days later, a lot of "Invalid VHT mcs 15 peer stats" on the log, and the wifi went down, and up. (during looking at a youtube video on TV) No need to reboot, just the wifi went down and one minute later it was working.
So, I've disabled wifi ac on the 5ghz link (put wifi N only) and after six other days, it seems to be stable.
No more "Invalid VHT mcs 15 peer stats" message, only "Invalid peer id XX peer stats buffer" from time to time.
I think I will stay with wifi N... :frowning:

There is no wifi down problem on 19.07 release.
