Flow Control needed?

Hi,

So if i'm shaping traffic anyway with CAKE, using the default ECN settings and with 8Mb / queue, should i turn off rx tx flow control on my wan / lan link? Is it any detrimental if i turn it off?

Cakes backlog and ECN seemingly does the same but better (if i understand it correctly).

You can turn it off. It may trigger , from a single frame enormous pushback of 4MB of traffic. Like godzilla of all bufferbloats.

I turned it off but now i'm seeing significantly more drops (it was 0 before) on tc - s qdisc when doing tests with flent or bufferbloat websites.

I assume thats to be expected.
