Flashing SBE1V1K

Hello forum, I been reading this fascinating thread about this device.

And today finally mine arrived, the unit that I got has firmware 1.5.3 See attachment.

My questions are:
Is the TFT procedure the proper way to get this unit into factory mode?
Is the Snapshot firmware (from the firmware selector) the proper one to flash from this stock firmware version?
@frollic @anon37480593 @Jackie264 @apsyx

If any of you guys need me to try anything new on this unit, please let me know.
Thank you guys awesome work!

I'm not sure whether the TFTP procedure can be applied to your stock firmware version. The highest version I have only tested so far is 1.4.1-13-888155-g202602200357-SBE1V1K-prod.

So far I have the file that Frollic shared on the other thread
openwrt-qualcommbe-ipq95xx-askey_sbe1v1k-initramfs-uImage.itb
Not sure where I saw someone was able to flash a unit version 1.5.3 ( not remember at the moment)
I am in the process of setting up my lab to try the TFTP process, and will try it tomorrow and report back. Thanks guys.

You can try to downgrade. Spectrum SBE1V1K (IPQ9574) OpenWrt Support - #173 by henna.

There's a link to an older stock fw earlier in the thread.

I looked but for some reason I do not see or find the link to the file.

you're a bad searcher ,)
fw is in Spectrum SBE1V1K (IPQ9574) OpenWrt Support - #55 by andrewjlamarche.

you've seen https://openwrt.org/toh/askey/sbe1v1k, right ?

keep us posted, fingers X:ed.

Found it, I was looking down futher line 170.
I will get everything setup and try it. Will post my results. Thank you

So far using the non-destructive option, I cannot get the device in warehouse mode yet.

More testing is showing the device LED in Red, but getting this error

C:\Windows\System32>curl -k https://192.168.0.112/cgi-bin/warehouse_api --data "command=get_mode"
curl: (28) Failed to connect to 192.168.0.112:443 after 21031 ms: Could not connect to server

I am not getting to warehouse mode, unless there is something I am missing.
Anything you guys would like to share, will be much appreciated. Thanks.

I would say you're using the wrong IP.

did you downgrade the stock fw ?

those DNS names are set upstream of the SBE, only you can tell if you got it right.

I am using the IP the unit aquired from the DHCP server on the WAN port.
Following the intructions provided on the wiki to flash de unit.

That's not what the instruction tells you to do.

You are right, change my setup to reflect as instructed

Router - DHCP 192.168.0.1 lan1 to SBR WAN port ( FQDN for warehouse mode already added)
SBE - is getting 192.168.0.112
PC - SBE port 1

Will post results in a few

SBE's WAN port goes to upstream LAN, client goes to SBE's LAN (port).

IP you're accessing should "always" be 192.168.1.1, since it's the SBE's LAN side IP.

If you think the instruction should be reworded, let me know, and I'll change it.
English is my 3rd language :expressionless:

Fixed my setup

SBE WAN port - to DHCP (not routable IP, FQDN set, not connected to the internet)
SBE LAN1 port to PC

From a elevated CMD
curl -k https://192.168.1.1/cgi-bin/warehouse_api --data "command=get_mode"
Cloud

The SBE is in cloud mode, going to try reset. Unless there is something else to try?

Reset and test, then test Spectrum SBE1V1K (IPQ9574) OpenWrt Support - #250 by yangzhg if you like.

Then downgrade fw, I guess.
Your unit have a higher fw version than what's been previously tested.

Might also want to verify your upstream DNS, ping those two FQDNs from a client.

I think is the DNS, will make some changes and report back

So far nothing, been playing around with the DNS entries, but I believed this exploit has been patched. I will be opening the unit - which me luck. /:unamused_face:

Hello, more than likely that is the issue. Maybe we can do a one on one or you can share the settings for the Router/ PC you are using to get the proper DNS. I am using an openwrt router for the upstream DNS. I will share my config for that one in a few.

Please confirm that in the environment you have prepared, in addition to warehouse.ctdi.local, does it include: warehouse.ctdi.com
