Flashed OpenWrt on AX6S, still doesn't boot into it

So I've flashed OpenWrt on my AX6S using this tutorial: https://github.com/mikeeq/xiaomi_ax3200_openwrt

Even after flashing and rebooting, 192.168.1.1 still isn't accessible while the old 192.168.31.1 is.

Following this tutorial https://openwrt.org/toh/xiaomi/ax3200 also doesn't work. The router reboots into the stock firmware but when I follow step 10, instead of fixing the issue, it becomes worse as then it won't boot into either firmware and I have to unbrick it.

What state is the device in, when you try to follow the wiki ?

mtd -r write factory.bin firmware

It reboots completely fine from this but it remains on the stock firmware.
