First installation on Archer c20 V5

I have just installed OpenWRT on my hardware through the TP-Link web interface. The firmware appeared to install fine, but now all of the lights on the router are flashing green, with the right most light flashing between green and amber. I am also unable to connect to the hardware with IP address.

I am using a windows box so I can't merge the files. I do have an old linux laptop IF I need to migrate to that.

Any help getting past this point would be helpful. Do I need to factory reset to the tp_recovery.bin file via tfpt, or is my hardware bricked?

Provide log via serial, please

For a very long time I used the old firmware of the very first through fttp, I can download it into a file organizer and throw a link
I sewed ten of these routers version 5 with this firmware
I didn’t collect this first firmware and I don’t remember where I said it, but it is 100% working

How exactly do i obtain those logs and connect a serial cable to this router?

This is Openwrt Archer C20 V5 firmware
through ftp

So, i will have to configre a tftp server..

and then install the version 23.05.5, this is the last for this model
The latest version is updated through Luci

if necessary, I can throw EU standard firmware via ftp

For update 23.05.5 put in Luci that you are taking a risk

see https://openwrt.org/toh/tp-link/archer_c20_v5

Do you have US firmware?

No, maybe TP-Link has.
You have an US-Model?
Regarding to your first post, what openwrt-firmware did you flash to your device, the EU firmware?
That was maybe not the best idea...

Pls clarify...

When I do a boot to to restore from TFTP the server never receives a connection request. At this point I am guessing that I used the EU version since that is the only V5 version available.

first on EU, then on OpenwRT and all through ftp

It doesn’t matter what kind of country you have, it will spent on EU
Then OpenWrt will be installed without problems
The first OpenWrt file is exactly what is in the archive

So what am I doing wrong then? I downloaded your rar files, named it tp_recovery.bin, fired up a tftp server with the IP address 192.168.0.66, default port. Rebooted the router while pressing reset with a toothpick for 10 seconds, but nothing ever requests the file from the tftp server...

Just to update, I have tested my tftp server, and it is responding. This means that either the router is not getting to the spot to make the TFTP request, or I am using an incorrect IP address. Any ideas?

Provide a log.

On the computer IP 192.168.0.66
Mask 255.255.255.0
Copy folder 123 on your desktop
Start tftpd32
The power on the router is disconnected
Press the Reset button
keep the discharge button and not let go
Turn on the power on the router
After the file is loaded, the reset button can be released
From this folder 123, tp link eu firmware will be installed
Then repeat the operation with the Openwrt file

you don't need to configure tftpd32
that's how it is, so install it, without showing initiative
do not release the reset button until the file is loaded !!!
update to version 23.05.5 through Luci
Version 24.10.0 will not work on this router model
If you collect the firmware through the generator, then the firmware file should not exceed the size of 7.1 MB
This is the maximum that you can shove into this model

How do i get a log file? Tftp is not showing any connection attempt being made and my router does not have a serial port.
