Festa f65-outdoor

Just a quick question here. I'm having a hard time finding the answer. I know the Festa f65 has support (snapshot support, but support nonetheless)... Is this device the same as the feste f65-outdoor, just with a waterproof shell, or is it an entirely different circuit board with the same SoC? in other words, can i just flash openwrt onto it.

If not, is someone already busy with support for this device? They can be had for 50 euro per piece. Which is a fantastic deal for a ax3000 weatherproof ap.

FCC ID appears to be the same - https://fccid.io/2BCGWF65OD.

are they using the same firmware (files) ?

i'll need to double check this. But the firmware on tplink seems to be different... but that could just be some naming they make consitent to the product

11+ vs 15+ MB (compressed), you should assume indoor image can't be used with the outdoor version.

That is too bad... if the fcc id is the same can i then assume they are the same?

diff stock image size would indicate different flash chip size and/or layout, so no.

By that, I assume you are within the EU and therefore in the ETSI region.
This means outdoor use on the 5GHz band is either prohibited or very restricted in power output and for short range only.
Effectively, this means this device is useful, legally, only on the 2.4GHz band as an outdoor device.
