Fix what?

If the old owners no longer run it...

Is this OpenWrt related?

If so, how?

Are you seeking an rddtool download alternative?

I am trying to build OpenWrt 22.03.3 from checkout. It basically stops doing make download when it tries to download rrdtool from It has a timeout of 86400 seconds with a retry count of 5 which means it will just sit there for 120 hours before giving up!
Is there a way to patch it to download from an alternative site? There are several packages dependent on it.

So the workaround is to remove the line from feeds/packages/utils/rrdtool1/Makefile which forces it to use the other ones. Is there a better way to override the use of the non-existent mirror?

That commit is October 2022. Why was it not picked up by a v22.03.3 build from January 2023 tag?

Each PR targets a specific branch, so in general it requires to open a separate PR, unless some developer decides to cherry-pick the commit and apply it to another branch.

22.03 release branch deviated from master already in February 2022.
Everything needs to be specifically backported / cherry picked from master to the 22.03 release branch.

I can cherry pick that commit after the Easter holidays.

I cherry-picked the URL change commit to 21.02 and 22.03
