I have downloaded the file which is here called the factory image. The file name is: openwrt-23.05.5-ath79-generic-engenius_esr1750-squashfs-factory.dlf
When selecting this file for the firmware upgrade (using the gui) I get a message 'invalid file'. What should I do to get OpenWrt on the device?
I have read the page at the link @sandberg provided, but few more questions.
method1 refers to a 'factory.bin' file, but no further detail which bin file.
The alternate way refers to tftp, which mentions it requires a serial console. but doesn't mentioned how to setup this serial connection. So I am a bit stuck now, and afraid that i need some more details to go ahead.
Here we are, document sha256sum of file you upload and OEM fw version.
Lets see if it is worth trying downgrading OEM fw, or you clicked wrong buttons.
Trying to find a download page, but it doesn't seem that easy.
By the way, in the gui it is called the 'application version'. found somewhere on the internet that they mean the firmware version with that.
Here is a page, but it lacks the ESR1750. there is one line that mentions:
Sure I did, but the information didn't make it clear whether I needed to use tftp or not. I was on the track to easily install openwrt using the default gui of the device. This was what the wiki mentioned as well.
