Yeah, I have to give in and agree to psherman, that the in the end, things get ever more complicated and eat up my time.
It's not worth for just two CPE 210 and a maybe-or-not reusable pile of 4-32-scrap.
So, enough learning for this week:
- The times of simple, compatible and reproducible linux on openwrt seem to be gone
- maybe it's procd that breaks chroot, or openssl, or whatever.
In the end, it simply does not work - nbd is not as stable as I hoped, it even started to screw my server
- overlayfs is an imcompatible bitch that even refuses to bind mount other targets into its tree
- good old pivot_root in busybox is broken as well
- web builder ist down quite often ....
- with the advantage of forcing me to set up a local image builder
- ... which obviously is more effective with space, since I can pack all my surveillance demons, perl, luci, and even CA-bundle int flash
