Ethernet port issue after updating do 21.02.0

Hi all,

i have just updated my Linksys WRT3200ACM to 21.02.0. Lost my config so i had to configure my device from scratch.

I have Raspberry Pi connected to my router via cable. The problem is that every single time when I reboot my router, the Raspberry Pi cannot be reached. The LED of that port is off. I have to unplug the cable, plug it in again and the LED comes up and then I can reach Raspberry device.

I have tried restart the 'br-lan' interface but that not bring the ethernet port up. The only thing which seems to help is physically disconnect ethernet cable for an second or so. Even if I reconnect the cable like really quick it does not bring it up. It has to be second or maybe two to sort this out.

Any one of you have a clue how to resolve this issue?

EDIT:

I did some additional testing.

Ports number 2, 3 and 4 are behaving normally, Is seems that only port number 1 has this issue.

EDIT2:

While ports number 2, 3 and 4 after reboot are bringing my Raspberry Pi up, I have noticed that all ports are behaving some kind of strange. When for example I am swapping ports with my Raspberry Pi, no matter which number, at the very first try LED does not come up and device cannot be reached. Only second time when I connect the device to the same port LED lights on and device is reached. Weird...

Anyone with 3200 has similar issue?

Hello, i'm facing same issue on a WRT1200AC since upgrade from 19.07.8 to 21.02.1, lan1 won't goes up until unplug/plug the Ethernet port, not sure why lan1 becomes in disable state at some point on boot (16.118641)

I tried to disable/enable with ip link set lan1 down && ip link set lan1 up, not working...

I have the same issue now with my WRT1900ACS. Ethernet ports all dead on boot. No activity on port 1 at all even if I remove and reattached the cable. 2-4 all light up but not data flow.

I have had to temporarily go back to 19.XX using advanced boot.

Update post for future readers:

I used "advanced reboot" to allow me to reboot back to my 19.07 partition, then flashed 21.02.2 over the top of 21.02.0, but this time made sure to do a clean install and did not restore my backup. Setup everything from scratch again and zero issues with eth now with my setup.

For me the issue went away after 21.02.1 or 21.02.2 update. My wired devices were coming up every single time.

However after updating to 22.03.0 stable the problem came back. It is not happening every time but once every couple of reboots of my Raspberry Pi the LED of that port is not on and i have to either manually re-plug the cable of that device or restart the router.

Restarting br-lan device does not help and I am wondering if there is an way of software sort of restart of one of the ports so it would come back to life.

Did anyone actually figured out what might be causing that issue?

Same issue on my WRT1900ACSv1. I did a factory reset and LAN1 port is down on boot (either reboot or power cycle) without configuring anything. So it is not due to messed up configuration.
I used the brcfg command and noticed that LAN1 port is last.

and lan4 is first. So I have changed my network cable from LAN1 to LAN4 and set up the WRT1900ACS as an access point again. Several reboots during the setup and LAN4 always came up for me.
This could be an off-by-one bug in the code somewhere.

BTW, LAN1 broken on 21.03.x and 22.03.0. Before the DSA change it worked well.

Work in my case when i cannot reboot the router. It restarts also Wi-Fi so all wireless devices are being disconnected.

In my case it also happens on clean configuration just after factory reset.

Did anyone found some solutions/workarounds to this issue?
