Wow, another one. I can't help you directly, I'm still learning this too. You might be interested in this topic.

Though, if I were you, I'd hold off the 30 seconds reset 'trick' til I've heard back from the experts here. You might be past that point.

Also, by default in OpenWrt, eth0 is the wan port. I usually connect to eth1 to ssh in or access Luci.
