I created this topic, because i wanted to verify with others first. On recent versions of OpenWRT, both 25.12 and Snapshot, enabling WED on mediatek, especially on routers with 256MB of RAM, causes big loss of free RAM. I tested this on Cudy WR3000H, ZBT Z8106AX-S, and other unsupported router that i'm working on. With WED disabled, i have around 90-110MB of free RAM. When i enable WED, it drops down to 45-50, sometimes even less. And yes, i confirmed it's definitely WED. At first i thought maybe it has something to do with images themselves, but i ruled that out. Maybe other people can chime in, and maybe they have the same problem as i do ?

I'm not experiencing this. I have a P and H. I'm currently only the P is avaliable to me. I'll need time to setup the H and observe in a testing environment. Perhaps others...

It started only recently, on 25.12 i have Cudy WR3000P as well, it has image installed with kernel version 6.12.87, WED is enabled on that one and everything is fine, i think i lost maybe 5-10 MB of free RAM ? I know that enabling it takes up some RAM, but i don't think it should be that much.
The only Cudy I own is the TR3000.
Cudy WR3000H here and I noticed some increasing memory usage but it looks like its bridger and i have to restart it every 7 days with a cronjob to free memory up.
But how did you enable WED with 25.12.x ? It does not work as it did with 24.10.7 for me, there are no BND connections in cat /sys/kernel/debug/ppe0/bind and i have high cpu usage when using wifi6 transfer.
Just read the openwrt wiki about enabling WED. I think it's different on 25.12 from 24.10, but i'm not sure.
